Film Bank Quiz is an education program, where an imaging case is presented each month illustrating important radiological findings that cover a broad range of body systems. The case serves as a stimulus for further learning and discussion, with suggested reading provided around the case.
Project Leads – Dr Chien Ho, Dr Katerina Mastrocostas
A collaboration between RAB, Integral Diagnostics and Radiopaedia
The Film Bank Quiz (FBQ) originated as an “in-house” monthly interesting case presentation at Integral Diagnostics It has been adapted into a monthly case based educational programme available for all RAB members and, in particular, members from developing nations.
This project is made possible by the valuable contribution of Dr Chien Ho , Dr Katerina Mastrocostas, Stephen Hardwick, Gayathri Sivaraman and A/Prof Suresh de Silva.
The FBQ commenced with a pilot program in 2020, and has grown annually in number of cases and participants. Each month, a new case will be featured consisting of a clinical scenario and relevant images, with a series of questions around the case. The selected cases aim to illustrate interesting and/or important radiological findings, serving as a stimulus for further learning. A broad range of body systems are covered, and suggestions for further reading will be provided throughout the case. Answers to the questions are assessed, and each participant will receive a score for the case.
Participation in the FBQ attracts CPD points, with each case contributing 0.5 learning hours (one half CPD point). A CPD certificate of participation will be emailed to each participant at the end of the year.
To register for the Film Bank Quiz anytime, please follow this link.
Cases can be completed at any time by all RAB members. Prior cases can be accessed multiple times below.
The Film Bank Quiz Prize Pool commenced in 2022, and is only open to registrants from developing nations. Registration for participation in the FBQ Prize Pool for 2023 is now closed.
There will be 10 FBQ Prize Pool cases in 2023. To be eligible for the Prize Pool, candidates will have to complete all of the cases. The case will launch in the first week of each month, and must be completed within the same month to be eligible for the Prize Pool. The score attained on the first attempt of the case will be used in calculating the candidate’s total score. The candidates with the highest score and who completed all cases will be eligible for the Prize Pool. Winners will be announced in December 2023.
Update: After a hiatus due to updates in the delivery of the project in early 2023, these FBQ Prize Pool rules will be adapted for 2023.
There will only be 8 cases in 2023, with changes to the completion rules, as follows:
