Free RABinar - Is Cardiac CT the new chest pain doctor?
A/Prof John Troupis, will present:- Is Cardiac CT the new chest pain doctor?
John works at Monash Health, in Melbourne, Victoria and has special interest in both Musculoskeletal and Cardiothoracic Imaging.
He has been instrumental in collaborating with the Cardiology Department to begin the cardiac CT service at Monash Health in 2008. The introduction of a new generation, wide field of view, CT unit with 320 detectors allowed him to further explore this relatively new concept in medical imaging. A/Prof Troupis has been interested in exploring the benefits of wide field of view CT, and in particular he has attracted the attention of several subspecialist surgeons who have taken the opportunity to further investigate clinical conditions which have been traditionally poorly understood. His current research interests, amongst others, include assessment of acute on chronic shortness of breath with comprehensive CT scanning, cardiac function in the acutely unwell patient, and further exploration of midcarpal instability of the wrist.
He has been actively involved in teaching both at the tertiary referral hospital and with Monash University.
